Lighthouse Instruments is Hiring a Product Manager Near Charlottesville, VA

The Product Manager plays a pivotal role in the global business development of LHI Products and services, spanning across continents from concept to manufacturing to obsolescence. This role also involves driving continuous improvement of processes for enhanced operational efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Envision, define, and deliver the product roadmap and periodically update the roadmap through discussions with customers and internal experts

· Cross-functional program management of research, development, and engineering projects supporting the product roadmap

· Align product priorities and internal technical resources to execute the roadmap

· Market and/or User Requirement Specifications for new developments on the product roadmap

· Work with the product development team on specifications and prioritization of product development activities

· Product pricing structure, margin, and cost of ownership models

· Product (yearly and strategic) plan and forecast based on market information

· Competitive analysis and defining the positioning of Lighthouse products relative to competition

· Customer engagement and creation of customer-facing presentations and marketing materials

· Drive and support sales account managers with direct sales opportunities

· Ability to travel globally (10%)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· Masters or higher in Physics/(Bio)Chemistry or electrical/chemical/mechanical engineering or equivalent

· At least 5 years experience in product management or technical marketing role in the pharmaceutical capital equipment or related industry

· Product development experience in capital equipment

· Direct customer engagement experience

· Ability to work with and drive multiple internal disciplines on a portfolio of products

· Deep understanding of the product life cycle process and capital systems in the pharmaceutical or similar industry

· Proven and demonstrated business growth through successful execution of the product line operational plans (yearly) and strategic product line plans (3-5 years)

· Development and documentation of market and/or specific customer requirements for (and development of) new products that increase both the serviceable available market and the market share

  • Above-average ability to be flexible, organize, manage time, and set/shift priorities while meeting required deadlines.

  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply Organization guidelines and procedures within the position and the department.
